The Cobb’s Quay Berth Holders Association, in conjunction with Powerboat Training UK encourages berth holders to get involved with our Training Program.
Boat ownership is all about freedom and having fun. The CQBHA Training Programme is designed to help you get more out of life with your boat.
The programme, run by Powerboat Training UK, encourages and supports increased berth holder activity by partnering with CQBHA to establish or enhance a programme of training, cruising and social opportunities.
This years training events run by Powerboat Training UK for CQBHA & MDL Marinas as part of the RYA Active Marinas scheme (that Cobb’s Quay is a formative member of) sees some new events and some old favourites.

How to save a life – come and practice undertaking CPR and using a Defibrillator machine
Lifejackets and flares – a firm favorite that has been run each year looking at the things you must know about your lifejacket plus how to issue distress using flares, a VHF and a every other method you have on board. Suits the whole family.
Chartplotters – how to use the chartplotter to navigate a route between two places and tips and hints from an instructor on how to make the most of these great bits of kit. Another two hour session to suit all levels.
How to save a life – hopefully you’ll never need to give CPR or use a defibrillator but just in case you ever need to this short session will run through what you need to do and give you some hands on practice of using them. During the two hours the sessions last you’ll also cover some other simple basic techniques to use whilst the RNLI or Ambulance is on route.
Each session costs £10 which is a non refundable deposit per head donated, in full, to the RNLI.
To book see Ian in the Quay Shop who has the booking forms for each event OR contact Viv/Paul at Powerboat Training UK to book direct or ask any questions on 01202 686666″
Don’t miss out. Places are limited and those who participated last year had a great time and learned a lot.
